The Christian Education Network Expands to Kansas and Idaho

New affiliates bring CEN’s growing national network to 10 states

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Christian Education Network (CEN) is expanding its national footprint again with the launch of new affiliates in Kansas and Idaho, bringing its growing network of state-based Christian education organizations to 10 states.

The Kansas Education Network and Idaho Education Network will serve as statewide resources for Christian schools and families, helping school leaders navigate public policy, advocate for educational freedom and work together on issues affecting faith-based education.

“Christian education is growing, and so is the need for strong state organizations that can serve schools and represent them when important policy decisions are being made,” said Troy McIntosh, executive director of CEN. “Kansas and Idaho have leaders who understand their states and the needs of Christian schools in their communities. CEN gives them the resources and national support to turn that local leadership into a strong, unified voice.”

The announcement comes after CEN launched affiliates in Alaska, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The network is modeled after the Ohio Christian Education Network, which has brought more than 200 Christian schools together across Ohio to advocate for policies that protect their independence and give families greater educational opportunities.

In Kansas, the new affiliate will be led by Kansas Family Voice.

“We are thrilled for what the launch of the Kansas Christian Education Network will mean for families across our state,” said Brittany Jones, president of Kansas Family Voice. “For too long, many Kansas parents have had limited access to meaningful educational options unless they could afford them. KCEN will strengthen and support existing Christian schools while empowering every family to pursue an educational experience that fits their child. This network represents a major step toward ensuring Kansas students can learn in environments that reflect their values, meet their needs and ensure they flourish.”

In Idaho, the new affiliate is led by Idaho Family Policy Center.

“Parents have the God-given responsibility to educate their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord,” said Blaine Conzatti, president of Idaho Family Policy Center. “But too many students have been stuck in failing public schools simply because their families lacked the financial resources to provide a Christian education. That’s why we’re so excited to launch the Idaho Christian Education Network, a coalition of Christian schools focused on empowering families by leveraging the new federal Education Freedom Tax Credit. Together, we can help provide every child access to the high-quality, affordable Christian education they deserve.”

CEN affiliates focus on the policy challenges and opportunities facing Christian education in their individual states while drawing on the experience, resources and expertise of a national network. Their work includes defending the religious independence of Christian schools, advocating for school choice policies that respect schools’ missions and helping expand access to Christian education.

“What began in Ohio is becoming a national movement of Christian schools and families determined to have a voice in the future of education,” said Aaron Baer, president of Center for Christian Virtue. “Kansas and Idaho bring us to 10 states, but we’re just getting started. We want Christian schools across America connected, equipped and ready to stand for their freedom and the families they serve.”
