BREAKING: Kansas Family Voice of Kansas Calls on Governor Kelly to Sign Bill Ensuring Women Seeking Abortions Receive All Relevant Medical Information

Topeka – Late this afternoon, the House and Senate voted to send the Abortion Pill Reversal Informed Consent law to Governor Kelly. As one of the last orders of business in both chambers before the April recess, both the Senate and the House sent a clear signal to the Governor that this important bill that provides women with hope should become law in Kansas. The House passed the committee report 85-35 even with several key conservative members absent. The Senate voted immediately afterwards and passed the report 26-11.

This law gives women access to information that a chemical abortion may be reversible if they change their minds. The legislation, supported by Kansas Family Voice of Kansas, underscores the need for women to have access to all relevant information when making important healthcare decisions. Kansas is now the eighth state to ensure that women have access to this information

A Statement from Brittany Jones, Director of Advocacy for Kansas Family Voice of Kansas:

β€œAll women deserve the highest standards of care and access to information. Women seeking an abortion should not be treated differently from other pregnant women when it comes to the medical information that is available to them. We urge Governor Kelly to sign this bill into law and ensure that all women have access to information that there is hope beyond the abortion pill. The House and Senate have sent a clear message to the Governor and to the nation that they are pro-woman and pro-baby.”
