Tim is a Kansas Family Voice Board member and we asked him to give us a quick note about American Restoration so we could share it with you.

I recently authored along with Craig Osten, American Restoration: How Faith, Family, and Personal Sacrifice Can Heal Our Nation.
Craig and I looked at all the doom and gloom we have seen and heard over America’s current cultural climate and felt we needed to provide a hopeful vision for renewing the founding values of our nation. That is why we wrote the book.
That renewal starts in our homes, neighborhoods, and communities. It starts with not seeing those who disagree with us as enemies, but as individuals who we need to build bridges to, rather than burn bridges with. In addition, if we are to restore our nation’s biblical foundations, as well as marriage, family, education, life, and numerous other critical areas, we must find ways to instill faith‐based values in our children, winsomely communicate them to our neighbors, and live them out in our lives and in our communities. That is how American restoration will happen.
We see American Restoration as a primer on how we, as Christians and concerned citizens can take steps to love our neighbors, and in turn, impact our nation in a positive way – so we can be salt and light to those around us and so they understand and appreciate the values that made America what Ronald Reagan referred to as the “shining city on a hill” of freedom for all to see, and adopt those values in their lives.

Tim Goeglein is Focus on the Family’s Senior Advisor to the President and Vice President for External Relations in Washington, DC.
He previously worked as Special Assistant to President George W. Bush, where he was the Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Liaison from 2001 to 2008.
Tim is the secretary of the Coalitions for America Board, a member of the board for the National Civic Art Society, and a member of the board of governors of the Young America’s Foundation which owns and operates the Ronald Reagan Ranch in Santa Barbara, California.
He graduated from Indiana University’s Ernie Pyle School of Journalism in 1986. He was the Richard Gray Fellow in his senior year.
Tim serves on the Sanctity of Life Commission for his church body, the 2.5 million-member Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and has served as a deacon in his church for 25 years. He has been married to Jenny for more than 20 years; they have two sons, Tim and Paul.
