The confirmation process of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court continues. Judge Gorsuch is exceedingly qualified for the position. He is a strong defender of the Constitution and upholds the same pro-family and pro-life values that you and I hold so dear. What stands in his way is partisan politics. Democrats are doing everything they can to thwart his appointment to the Supreme Court.
It was precisely for this reason that Kansas Family Voice of North Dakota stood together with other partner organizations on March 1st at the Capitol in Bismarck to hold a rally to appeal to Democrat Sen. Heidi Heitkamp asking her to approve Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
We used that opportunity to strongly advocate that Gorsuch is the right person for this position. Did Senator Heitkamp listen to us? Time will tell. Nevertheless, we stood strong and spoke out for our shared values. We were very pleased that the media carried the story and helped get our message out even more broadly across the state.
That rally and our national efforts toward confirmation of Judge Gorsuch are at the forefront of our current policy issues. Much rests on this decision, not just nationally, but for our state as well.
The first week of April you will have a chance to help us continue this important work. We will be holding dessert banquets in Bismarck April 3rd and Fargo April 4th where we will share more about the work we do and how you can partner with us pro-actively address these and other issues.
Once again, the Benham Brothers will be joining us – this time with a message about standing strong in a culture that is increasingly hostile to our faith beliefs. We sincerely hope you can attend one of these banquets. Attendance is free, but space is limited so we need to hear from you soon.
In addition, any financial support to help sponsor one of the banquets would mean a lot to us as we continue to strengthen and reinforce our presence in public policy and politics here in North Dakota. Both events are co-sponsored by Family Policy Foundation of North Dakota.
You can register for either banquet today. If you are interested in helping sponsor our events, please email me.
We look forward to working with you to make North Dakota – and the U.S. – a place where families thrive!
Sincerely,
Executive Director
