| A professor at the University of Kansas was caught saying that men don’t want to vote for Kamala “because they don’t think females are smart enough to be president… we can line all those guys up and shoot them. They clearly don’t understand the way the world works.” KU has said that the professor has left the University but previously, they released a weak statement: “His intent was to emphasize his advocacy for women’s rights and equality, and he recognizes he did a very poor job of doing so.” This is wildly inappropriate for a professor to say, especially when our tax dollars pay his salary. It speaks to a larger issue we’re seeing, though – the Harris-Walz ticket has a problem connecting with men. So much so that the porn industry is now sending out political ads targeting young men with messages that Kamala will protect their access to porn. While Harris didn’t necessarily sanction these ads, it does show that this predatory industry believes that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will continue to let them profit off of kids and destroy families. In Kansas, we have spent the last two years fighting to protect real women’s opportunities on the athletic field and in other spaces and against the porn industry that subjugates and dehumanizes men and women. We’re fighting for the dignity of every human being – whether they agree with us politically or not. It’s why we helped pass the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, the Women’s Bill of Rights, and the Protecting Kids Online Act. We believe that people have the right to disagree, but we have to keep working to remember the humanity of our opponents while speaking truth about the consequences of their ideas and their policies. We can’t allow the current political climate to give us a pass on the biblical command to love the Lord our God and love our neighbor. In love, we speak truth and point people to God’s design because through that design people find true life and wholeness. This is why we exist and why we keep standing the gap for your family.
