National Day of Prayer was held in thousands of places around the country today. National Day of Prayer is based on our understanding that this country was founded on biblical values and that we can only have a relationship with God through prayer.
Our founding fathers were people of faith and they established our great country on these principles. They knew that our country could only survive and flourish by the grace and provision of God. As I’ve mentioned in the past, Patrick Henry states this quite eloquently.
“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”
Freedom and liberty find their roots in our faith, and our faith is sustained and strengthened through prayer.
Kansas Family Voice of North Dakota once again participated at the National Day of Prayer event in Bismarck at the State Capitol and helped organize the event along with other community organizations. The event began with the reading of Governor Burgum’s North Dakota Day of Prayer Proclamation. That was followed by various community leaders, each praying for a different subject: government, church, business, military, family, education, and media.
As in past years, we had a great turnout at the Capitol for the event, with hundreds of North Dakotans in attendance. In addition to Bismarck, many other National Day of Prayer events occurred in other large and small cities across North Dakota. Today was a great celebration, lifting our gratitude, concerns, and praise to our Lord.
We thank those who showed up at the various locations around the state to pray. Let’s remember that our nation needs prayer on a continual basis, so please do not “tire and grow weary” in this important task.
I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
I Timothy 2: 1-2
Prayerfully,
