Moving the Ball forward for women and unleashing girls potential on our state!
Topeka, Kan.
March 21, 2022 – Today, the Kansas Senate passed the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act. The Senate passed the Act _____. Eleven states already have passed similar legislation. The Act clarifies that sports teams should be designated men, women, or co-ed. Only biological females can participate in sports designated for women.
Brittany Jones, Director of Policy and Engagement, Kansas Family Voice:
“As we celebrate fifty years of opportunities for women through Title IX, it is long past time that the Kansas legislature stand up for girls in our state. The longstanding legal understanding of Title IX and sex discrimination require that we protect Kansas girls from attacks from administrations and sports association who do not have girls’ best interest at heart.
Female swimmers, track and field, soccer, basketball and track athletes all agree that fairplay must be protected. We have watched women lose opportunities to biological men just this weekend in the NCAA Women’s Swimming Championship. Kansas should unleash girl’s potential in our state by fighting for their ability to play fairly.”
