It’s a new year, and with a new year comes a new legislative session in Kansas and a fresh agenda for KFV – winning for your family!
2026 is a monumental year in Kansas.
A Governor’s race. Important constitutional amendments. But first, we need to focus on the people’s business and see this Session through to a successful conclusion.
For those of you new to the process, most state legislatures are part-time, meaning they meet for a set number of days for less than half the year. Originally, the federal legislature had a similar schedule. There is a lot of wisdom in this abbreviated schedule, with a goal of limiting the size and scope of government, not to mention how much more difficult travel used to be.
In the modern era, it means that we are about to embark on a 90-day sprint, especially in an election year. Of course, things happen outside the Kansas Legislature’s 90-day session, but the bulk of the policy work we do each year takes place during these 90 days.
This forces us to be clear on our goals and focused on our objectives.
And we have an exciting and bold plan for this year. Our primary objectives are:
- Protecting kids from dangerous content on app stores and devices;
- Protecting free speech for students;
- Protecting girls’ privacy in schools;
- Protecting the rights of doctors to live out their faith in their practice;
- Opting the state into a federal school choice opportunity and expanding state opportunities; and
- Working to protect life in the womb and mothers.
More details about these plans will be forthcoming, but we can’t do this without you. Make sure you are following us on social media and are receiving our emails with action alerts to contact your legislators.
A couple of asks:
- Please pray;
- Be prepared to contact your legislators;
- Follow us on social for up-to-the-minute updates; and
- Forward this email to 5 of your friends!
We look forward to working together to advance biblical principles so that all Kansans can thrive!
