Breaking: Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists Passes Resolution in Support of the Value Them Both Amendment
Salina, Kan. – October 13, 2021 – At their annual convention, the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists (KNCSB) passed an official resolution in support of the Value Them Both Constitutional Amendment, which will appear on the August 2, 2022 Kansas primary ballot. The resolution was offered and accepted unanimously at the 2021 annual meeting of the KNCSB, held this year in Salina, Kansas.
When passed by Kansas voters, the Value Them Both Amendment will protect over 20 existing but endangered Kansas laws regulating the abortion industry, reclaim the ability of the state legislature to place commonsense limits on abortion industry practices, and keep taxpayer dollars from subsidizing the industry. These goals align with Southern Baptist life-affirming principles.
Voyt Lynn, Director of Missions, South Central Association of Southern Baptists and current President, Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists said, “Southern Baptists, based upon the Scriptures, consistently affirm that ‘children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord.’ We have a fundamental conviction that every human being is created in the image and likeness of God and thus has inherent and tremendous worth. Because of these core beliefs, we joyfully and absolutely affirm the value of both women and children – whether born and unborn. As our resolution notes, ‘We give our strongest possible endorsement of the Value Them Both Amendment.'”
The Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists has 465 member churches comprising over 81,000 Southern Baptists in Kansas and Nebraska.
