Kansas Family Voice of North Dakota is pleased to endorse two more candidates running for seats in our state House of Representatives: Representative Larry Klemin and newcomer Duane Sand. We wholeheartedly endorse these two gentlemen for the same reasons we’ve endorsed other candidates: their support and defense of biblically-based family values. Their commitment to our shared values was very evident during our vetting process. Each of these men is pro-life, pro-family, supports educational choice, defines marriage as a union between one man and one women, and supports religious freedom, such as the Supreme reaffirmed in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission.
We strongly encourage you to vote in next Tuesday’s primary election, and if you live in District 47, please consider voting for these two gentlemen and sending them on to the general election in the fall.
Representative Larry Klemin
Representative Larry Klemin is running for reelection to the state House in District 47. Larry has consistently voted to support the policy objectives of Kansas Family Voice of North Dakota – defending your pro-life and pro-family values. He has been fighting for you in the House of Representatives since 1998 and is a member of the Judiciary and Political Subdivisions committees, the latter in which he serves as Chairman.
Representative Klemin is a lawyer in private practice with the Bismarck law firm of Schweigert, Klemin & McBride, and also President of Litigation Services, Inc., a publisher of legal books and materials for lawyers. He has served on the boards of West Dakota Chapter of the American Red Cross, Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce, and North Dakota Chapter of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. Larry is a Vietnam Veteran and earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Army Commendation Medal during his service. He is married to Rita, they have two children, and attend the Church of Corpus Christi.
Duane Sand
Duane Sand is another candidate running for a seat in the House representing District 47. Duane is new to the political scene, but clearly holds the same biblical values you hold dear. In his own words, “I respect the dignity of life and I’m opposed to abortion. North Dakota’s family values are worth fighting for. God has truly blessed our state. Our love for one another and our values has made our state great. I will do everything in my power to keep it that way.” Duane would be an excellent advocate for your values and we are pleased to endorse him.
Duane served our country in the United States Navy for 34 years, served in active duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and reached the rank of Captain. He also served as North and South Dakota Director for Americans For Prosperity, a conservative political advocacy group, and with American Legion Boys State. Today, Duane is the CEO of White Horse Water, a successful oilfield water services company based in Bismarck. Duane has been married to Holly for 24 years, they have two children, and their family attends Evangel Assembly of God church in Bismarck.
Both Representative Klemin and Duane Sand are the type of candidates Kansas Family Voice is proud to endorse. Their commitment to our shared biblical values, protection of preborn children, and defense of North Dakota family values sets them apart as clear advocates who will protect our principles. Please remember these candidates when you vote in next week’s primary election. They will help ensure that North Dakota will remain a state where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished!
