Good news! Kansas Family Voice of New Mexico is up and running, and I am honored to serve as President and Executive Director!
In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing some of our strategic plans for protecting faith and families in New Mexico, but first, please allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Vince Torres, and I am a proud native of our beloved “Land of Enchantment.” As a child, I was raised in northern New Mexico by my mother, a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Army. After graduating high school, I attended Liberty University in Virginia, where I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in government and business management. While attending Liberty, I met my beautiful wife, Tiffany, and we have now been married for 9 years. We have two children – Brooklyn and Gavin – and have made our home in Santa Fe.
Upon returning to New Mexico after college, I began my career in state government working for the New Mexico Legislature. After working for the Senate for several years, I joined the staff of Lt. Governor John Sanchez in 2011 and served as his Policy Director and Legislative Liaison for the past 6 years. During this time, I was also ordained as a pastor of my local church – Blaze Christian Fellowship – where I continue to serve to this day.
As a native New Mexican, God has given me a strong calling to serve in this new position, and I am anxious to begin the work of promoting positive change in our state. Our vision is a New Mexico where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive and life is cherished. In order to achieve this vision, I’ll be working diligently to promote good public policy, to equip pastors and church leaders to be active citizens, to engage in government on behalf of our Biblical values, and to raise the funds needed to support our efforts.
